Mandy Leibbrandt

Mandy Leibbrandt is co-founder of the Suikerbossie Park Community Garden in Brackenfell. Under her leadership the fallow piece of land was transformed into a vigorous food and community space with more than 40 vegetable gardens and hundreds of fruit trees. The project monthly feeds many families, offers training and cooperation to local gardeners, and builds community spirit through sustainable agriculture. Mandy’s work brings hope, food security and environmental awareness to her community and has already received local as well as international credit.
