Cape Forum approach the Constitutional Court to get clarity on the announcement of a Referendum by a Premier, specifically the Western Cape Premier, regarding the devolution of policing powers to the Western Cape government. Bheki Cele and the National Police Service does not have the capability/capacity to keep the Western Cape safe!

Cape Forum will continue to mobilise communities for their support to reach greater autonomy and self-reliance in the Western Cape.
It is known that the provincial government, like us, believes that the province will be able to handle policing better than it is done from a national platform. The province is also of the opinion, like Cape Forum, that the devolution of power must be accompanied by a fair allocation of taxpayers’ money.
